Engineered Wood Engineered wood is made out of 3 to 10 thin sheets (plies) of wood, glued together. Pros: - Cheaper - Can resist more moisture, making it able to install in for example basements. - Installation is easier and faster and can be glued-down, stapled-down, or floated over a variety of subfloors, including concrete and some types of other flooring. Cons: Can be sanded once or just a few times only Does not last as long as solid wood Adds less value to a property then solid wood
