At World of Rugs & Furniture choosing your hardwood floor has never been easier.
We offer a wide selection of hardwood and attentive customer service. Our staff is well informed on their products and can assist you in meeting your flooring requirements.

Why choose a hardwood floor?
Hardwood floors will give warmth and richness to your room and with the proper care they rarely need replacing. They are easy to clean and their beauty actually increases over time.
Compared to carpet, a hardwood floor will last much longer.
Another important reason why people choose a hardwood floor: Investment.
Installing a hardwood floor in your property will in general increase the value of your property, more then the cost of the floor itself!

What type of hardwood floor to choose?
Hardwood floors come in two types: Solid wood and Engineered wood.

Solid Wood

Solid Wood

Solid wood floors are, as the name suggests, made out of one piece of solid wood.

Pros:
- Can be sanded and refurnished several times to make the floor brand new.
- Gives a more solid feel and sound to your room.
- Can last a long time with the proper care
- Ads more value to a property

Cons:

- More expensive
- More sensitive to moisture
- Requires often a wooden subfloor
- Often needs to accumulate before installation

Engineered Wood

Engineered wood is made out of 3 to 10 thin sheets (plies) of wood, glued together.

Pros:
- Cheaper
- Can resist more moisture, making it able to install in for example basements.
- Installation is easier and faster and can be glued-down, stapled-down, or floated over a variety of subfloors, including concrete and some types of other flooring.

Cons:
Can be sanded once or just a few times only
Does not last as long as solid wood
Adds less value to a property then solid wood
