Choosing the color of your carpet is very important. They will set the mood and atmosphere in a room.
Here is a list of colors and what effects they might have...

Beige / Cream Beige and Cream are an ideal base to start from.
They create a feel of calmness and silence.
It puts you in contact with nature, yet has this clean look of the modern life style.

Blue Blue is a perfect color for work, playing or relaxing.
It is fun, sophisticated and highly versatile, allowing you to use this color to create the perfect space.

Burgundy / Red Burgundy and deep red colors will give a impression of a classic and fresh style.
Whether you use it in an antique or a modern style room, it remains timeless.

Gold / Yellow Gold and yellow will give a mellow or almost dreamy feel to the room.
It gives a warm and welcoming atmosphere to the room.

Green Green is said to be the color of life.
It creates an environment where you can submerge your senses and recharge your energy.
Green is very diverse, but it is always fresh and vivid, leaving energies renewed and spirits harmonized.

Terracotta

Terracotta gives a warm, Mediterranean feel to the room.
It reminds you of the happy days of summer and sunshine.

Design

Design is just as color an important part in the overall results in a room.
There are three different design types:
Plain, Small Patterned, Large Patterned (also called heavy or traditional patterned).

Plain Plain carpets are easily matched with all types of furnishings, both modern and traditional.
It is perfect for bigger areas because there is no pattern to be followed, making it more economical for these areas.
In combination with the color, patterns can make the room look bigger or smaller.

Small Patterned Small patterned carpets are a great step between plain and large patterned and they come in the more traditional style designs.
While they have a pattern, they keep many benefits that a plain carpet will have, like the optical illusion of making rooms appear larger when combined with a color.
It has however, a small benefit that the large patterned carpet has: it can help disguise some of the effects of natural use such as soiling or pile flattening.
The patterns on these carpets are easier to match and therefore can save money in rooms where joins are needed.

Large Patterned Large patterned carpets give a more traditional look.
They hide many little spill accidents more then the plain or small patterned carpets and show less effects of use, like flattening and shading.
Large patterned carpets can be used to make a very large room feel smaller and more inviting.

Carpet construction

As well as color and design, the way a carpet is made will add to the effect you like to achieve by introducing different textures of pile.
Each method of construction has its own characteristics that will make it more suitable than other ones for certain locations. The way a carpet is constructed, also decides how the quality will remain during its lifespan.
The pile height, weight and density as well as the fibers that are used will decide the quality of the carpet. It is the combination of these factors that tells how a carpet performs in a certain location.
Carpets with longer pile heights give a more luxurious feel, but are more prone to flattening.
Shorter and denser piles often keep more of their appearance, but they can feel less comfortable.
Carpets with heavier pile weights will look, feel and wear better than lighter ones. Unfortunately they also cost more.

Construction methods fall into two main categories "Tufted" and "Woven".
The main difference is that tufted carpets are made faster and therefore produces a less expensive product while much better patterns can be produced on woven carpets.
